Out of Line biography of Nayantara Sahgal by Ritu Menon
Her life was indeed out of line. Daughter of Nehru's sister Vijaylaxmi Pandit, Nayantara married at young age to Ranjit Sahgal. Later she developed relationship with E N Mangat Rai who was also married. Both of them divorced their spouses and married each other. In fact their love affair is documented in another book called Relationship. However one gets good glimpses here in this book. Worth a read.
Dragon on our Doorstep
There cant be better book to read when China is litterally bannging on our door. Authors have very well analysed the historical perspective and present day scenario as regards military capabilities of both the countries are concerned. They are not far from truth when they say, "Forget China; India is not capable of winning a war against Pakistan". Rhetoric of jingoistic TV channels and hollow claims of our Military Generals beside the bitter truth is totally opposite. Our defence forces are woefully ill equipped. Lack of understanding of military matters by politicians and bureaucrats have brought us to a stage where Indian Defence forces are struggling with third Generation technology while China has gone over to Fifth Generation. It is very well written book. It must be read by those who are concerned about military matters and of course by those who are responsible for bringing the state of military affairs to so low.
